On Friday, December 11th, college students of Suffolk County Community University kicked it up a notch in the kitchen through a unique culinary “Chopped” like competitiveness, Battle for the Beach front, held at the college’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Middle in Riverhead. Just like the Food items Community reality clearly show, opponents have been presented a basket with various thriller parts, which provided a total hen, broccoli, endives, purple pepper, potato and shallot that the contestants experienced to use to produce an irresistible food, in just 90 minutes.
Right after tasting all of the flavorful and resourceful dishes, the judges decided that it was Bay Shore’s Shannon Bloomquist who won prime honors of Battle for the Beach. Bloomquist’s winning meal highlighted a delectable pan seared chicken with normal au jus, braised endive and herb scented mash potatoes. “I congratulate all of the learners, college and staff who organized and took portion in the Battle for the Beach competition, and wish our Top rated Chef, Shannon Bloomquist, properly,” explained Suffolk County Neighborhood University President Dr. Shaun L. McKay.
Along with the title of Suffolk’s “Major Chef,” the gifted chef will also get a calming getaway. During her 7-night stay at the Sheraton Clearwater Seashore Vacation resort in Clearwater, Florida, Bloomquist will have the chance to impress the resort’s govt chef when she demonstrates off her skills in the resort’s kitchen.
